I hope, Policy makers, researchers and readers will find this book useful in engaging further in policy research on the demographic challenges faced by India and this will add valuable information to the various attributes of the population of India.

About the Book :-
This book gives a comprehensive presentation of economic theories of international trade and investment. Classical theories that can be dated back to the beginning of modern economic science were influenced by ideas of perfect competition. More recent theories emphasize the importance of market imperfections, product differentiation, economies of scale, business specialization, technology differentiation and technological progress. These theories also include the impact of economic growth and capital movements. It is shown how simultaneous states of free trade and capital movements may lead to greater economic inequalities, contrary to what was expected.
This book discusses complicated economic issues without using a sophisticated language of presentation. Thus it can be read with great advantage by students and professionals with an interest in international economics.

About the Book :-
The economic concepts presented in MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS show students how to use commonsense to understand business and solve managerial problems without calculus. This innovative text helps students develop and sharpen their economic intuition—an invaluable skill that helps students as future managers to decide which products to produce, costs to consider, and prices to charge, as well as the best hiring policy and the most effective style of organization. With its unique integrative approach, the text presents the firm as a cohesive, unified organization and demonstrates that important business decisions are interdisciplinary. A basic valuation model is constructed and used as the underlying economic model of the firm. Each topic is then related to an element of the value maximization model—a process that shows how management integrates accounting, finance, marketing, personnel and production functions. The text also provides an intuitive guide to marginal analysis and basic economic relations. Once students grasp the importance of marginal revenue and marginal costs, the process of economic optimization becomes intuitively obvious. In addition, a wide variety of examples and simple numerical problems vividly illustrate the application of managerial economics to a vast assortment of practical situations. By studying the material in MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS, those seeking to further their business careers learn how to effectively collect, organize and analyze information. They gain powerful tools that can help them become more successful—and satisfied—in their careers. Extremely user-friendly, the text caters to a variety of learning styles as it presents key analytical concepts in several ways, including tabular analysis, graphical analysis and algebraic analysis. Students learn in a format with which they are comfortable, making difficult material more accessible and easier to understand. The new streamlined edition is concise, current and cutting edge and gives instructors more flexibility than ever before. The author balances traditional neoclassical micro theory with extensive coverage of the latest analytical tools in managerial economics. Its focus is on presenting those aspects of economic theory and analysis that are most relevant to students of business administration and a wide variety of examples and simple numerical problems are used to illustrate the application of managerial economics to a vast assortment of practical situations. The nature of the decision process and the role that economic analysis plays in that process are emphasized throughout.

Microfinance has become an important component of development, poverty reduction and economic regeneration strategy around the world. By the early twenty first century tens of millions of people in more than 100 countries were accessing services from formal and semi-formal microfinance institutions (MFIs). Much of the initial attention on microcredit came through work on Bangladesh’s much-lauded Grameen Bank but, there are now many different ‘models’ for microfinance and many countries have substantial microfinance sectors.
This timely book, written by one of the major players in the UK in development economics explores, amongst others, topics such as:
• Microfinance and poverty reduction
• Microfinance, gender and social development
• Microinsurance
• Regulating and supervising microfinance institutions.
Topical and insightful, this important text examines what has become a vast global industry employing hundreds of thousands of people and attracting the attention of large numbers of governments, banks, aid agencies, non-governmental organizations and consultancy firms.

1. An Introduction to microfinance
2. Finance for the poor: The way forward?
3. The Microfinance schism

7. Programs for the poorest: learning from the IGVGD program in Bangladesh

About the book
The landscape of the world economy has been significantly reshaped in recent years. The global economic crisis revealed the fragile foundations of the international financial system, and, in its wake, dynamics of economic power have considerably adjusted. In the fifth edition of this best-selling text, these developments are incorporated into a comprehensive introduction to the global political economy. It takes full account of the emergence of China as a contender to the predominance of the US, of the changing role of the BRICS economies more generally, and of the on-going problems of the European Union, and especially the eurozone.
While incorporating the latest developments, Global Political Economy continues to provide a historically-grounded account. It traces the evolution of the global economy, from its roots in the 15th century, through the Industrial Revolution, to the post-1945 world order. It then explores in detail the dynamics of global political economy in the 21st century, providing systematic coverage of the key spheres of activity – trade, production, finance, labour, gender, development, the environment, ideas, security and governance.
Lucid, engaging and authoritative, Global Political Economy introduces an unusually wide range of theoretical approaches, moving beyond a traditional three-paradigm perspective to show how these theories can be applied and how useful they are for understanding key issues and developments.

DESCRIPTION
"Fundenber and Tiroles text will have an immediate and important impact on the way game theory is taught at the graduate level. Not only does it cover most of the central topics in noncooperative game theory, it is as up-to-date and complete as a book in this area could hope to be."
-Charles Wilson, Professor of Economics, New York University
This advanced text introduces the principles of noncooperative game theory - including strategic form games, Nash equilibria, subgame perfection, repeated games, and games of incomplete information - in a direct and uncomplicated style that will acquaint students with the broad spectrum of the field while highlighting and explaining what they need to know at any given point. The analytic material is accompanied by many applications, examples, and exercises.
The theory of noncooperative games studies the behavior of agents in any situation where each agents optimal choice may depend on a forecast of the opponents choices. "Noncooperative" refers to choices that are based on the participants perceived selfinterest. Although game theory has been applied to many fields, Fudenberg and Tirole focus on the kinds of game theory that have been most useful in the study of economic problems. They also include some applications to political science. The fourteen chapters are grouped in parts that cover static games of complete information, dynamic games of complete information, static games of incomplete information, dynamic games of incomplete information, and advanced topics.

I Static Games of Complete Information
1 Games in Strategic Form and Nash Equilibrium
